We are dedicated to harnessing the momentum behind environmental stewardship, gender empowerment, and peacebuilding, recognising their interconnected nature. FOUNDERS
Maureen Walschot
Co-founder of The Tide, an environment and security expert with a focus on the Gender-Environment-Security Nexus. Holding dual Ph.D.s in International Relations and Geography, Maureen serves as a university lecturer at UCLouvain and works as an independent research consultant, dedicated to enhancing security and climate resilience.
Sofiia Shevchuk
Co-founder of The Tide, and a founder of an educational and consultancy platform VONA. Sofiia is a environment, gender, peace and security expert. She also serves as an independent researcher, trainer, facilitator and a podcast host (VONA Talks).

We host online/offline events that range from panel discussions to informal drinks or yoga brunches, with the aim to facilitate dialogue, exchange ideas, and mobilise collective action on environment, gender, security issues.

We offer specialised training programs, workshops, and facilitated discussions for diverse audiences to build their capacity and expertise in addressing the nexus of environment, gender, and security.
Research & Consultations
We provide expert help to tackle environmental damages, gender inequality, and insecurity through consultations, research, and solutions. Our goal is to promote resilience and sustainable development.
